Looking for a different podcast genre? Feeling more like Magic: The Gathering and less Magic Johnson all of a sudden? Pick from the list here to see the top 100 podcasts for the genre you select. Note: if you switch genres and have already selected some podcasts, we'll remember which you selected. If you want to forget these, close this window and click the "Clear Selected" button.
We know you're excited to click buttons, but first things first. Select one or more podcasts by clicking on the row for the podcast you want. Select as many as you want. AFTER that, click that "Generate OPML" button.
Thanks for stopping by. Feeder Ninja helps you get started with podcasts by letting you browse the best podcasts out there. Look through the lists of podcasts and click on those you think you might like (we'll highlight them in blue). When you're done, click the "Generate OPML" button and we'll give you a URL you can put into your podcast app to create a playlist of all the podcasts you selected. Amazing, right? What a time we live in.
You did it! Here's the URL you can use in your podcast app. Just copy and paste this into your app wherever you can import an OPML feed or playlist. Happy podcasting! (Ugh...can't believe we just said that)
About Feeder Ninja
What is Feeder Ninja all about? We know there's a lot of interest in podcasts, but it can be overwhelming to get started. Here are some questions and answers to get you started:
Easy one. That's what Feeder Ninja is for. We pull the lists of top ranked podcasts from every genre according to iTunes and share them here. These are the podcasts all the cool people listen to. We start you off with the Top 100 podcasts across all genres. If you want a specific genre (say...comedy), find the "SWITCH GENRE" button at the top of the page and pick a different genre. Once you select a genre, you can also filter that by choosing something from the "Sort by Category" dropdown.
Nevermind what OPML stands for (we have no idea...Google it). It's basically a simple file that contains all the details that your podcast player of choice will need to create a playlist of podcasts. This is what Feeder Ninja is here for. You select the podcasts that look good and we give you an OPML file that you can import into your podcast player. After you select some podcasts and click "GENERATE OPML", we'll give you a URL (like: http://feeder.ninja/files/23h3k123l21.ompl). Copy and paste that URL into your podcast app and it'll work it's magic. Most podcast apps have an import feature that will require a URL. This is where you put in the file name we gave you.
Copy and paste that URL into your podcast app and it'll work it's magic. Most podcast apps have an import feature that will require a URL. This is where you put in the file name we gave you and then look for a "Subscribe" or "Okay" or something button. PS: the Apple Podcast app is a disaster and it doesn't have a way to import a feed, so get a new podcast app if you're going to be serious about this podcast thing. Which app should you get? See the next question.
Just visit your friendly neighborhood app store. We highly recommend Downcast (iOS). Yes, it'll cost you 3 bucks, but it's worth it. Have one less Starbucks this week. For Android, we don't really know, but hear that Pocket Casts is pretty good. It'll set you back 4 bucks.
Jonathan Richman. Not the singer. If you really want to know more: @jonmrich. As far as why I made this...I don't know. I suppose it's one of those things I just felt like seeing if I could. Apparently I could.
